In 2015, Fairfax County Public Schools, Instructional Services Department began a journey to use Agile project management to help solve persistent, resistant problems in education and meet the division’s new strategic plan IGNITE. The team will discuss the initiation and implementation of two strategic projects – High School English for Speakers of Other Languages program enhancements and FCPSOn, the division’s new 1:1 initiative featuring a new learning model. The presentation will focus on successes and challenges encountered as project teams learned to use Agile methodology in the K-12 education space.

Rebecca Redman, project support coach and manager, an experienced high school teacher, SCRUM master, and GMU adjunct professor in cyber security. Judd Quinio, project support coach and manager, a skillful teacher, SCRUM master, and an expert in online professional development for educators. Susan Wagoner, project support coach and manager, an instructional technology specialist, accomplished teacher, database administrator, and SCRUM master.
