David Wernecke is a Section Chief in the Consumer Response organization of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). He is responsible for Service Design, Program Management, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Solution Management, Organizational Change Management and Program Management. David joined the CFPB in February 2013.
Prior to joining CFPB he worked at Citigroup for over 20 years. He held senior leadership roles in mergers and acquisitions, system platform transformations, policies and procedures, training and compliance, organization change management, and branch management. He also was a Division Manager with SAIC for four years leading two implementations of the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program with the NAVSEA and Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) commands.
David has a bachelor’s degree from Towson in Political Science and History and is a 2010 graduate of the Leadership Maryland program. He lives in Severna Park, Maryland with his wife, son, and Chesapeake Bay Retriever and is an avid basketball player.
